Our racing season is now nearly halfway through, and nearly finished for junior high!
Thank you to all of the sponsors, parents, and coaches who volunteer to enable this team to learn safety skills, grow, race, gain confidence, encourage others, and enjoy being on a bike among friends, old and new. We're looking forward to future seasons, fun, and friendship, too!
We are excited to announce that Ride Cedar Valley, the new non-profit corporation formed to support the Cedar Valley Mountain Bike Team ("Bikes of Prey"), has received official recognition by the IRS as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization! This clears the way to finalize the team's transfer from the Flyers Cycling Club over the coming weeks and months. Importantly, it also allows the team to continue receiving funds from the amazing sponsors and partners who support the team in so many ways.
As part of this announcement, we want to emphasize that the team continues to be run on a day-to-day basis by the same set of dedicated team council volunteers who have been with us since the beginning of the year. These men and women put in countless hours behind the scenes to help make sure the team has the resources, equipment, and financial resources needed to make the team go. They do a fantastic job, and we couldn't do it without them.
Given the change in head coach back in June, you may be wondering about the current financial state of the team. We're happy to be able to share our current budget under the new non-profit, Ride Cedar Valley, and projections through the end of the season. We also wanted to share the financial controls policy that the team is operating under.
We extend a special thanks to Bigfoot NDT (for our new bike racks) and Tire Factory Point S for giving us a boost as early 2027 season sponsors. They have made a big difference for our season!
We are also happy to announce a new, expanded website for the team. Here you will find all kinds of information, photos, and other resources about the team, the league, and bike racing in general.
Lastly, I want to give a personal thank you to each one of the many coaches, ride leaders, and parents who contribute in so many ways to make our team a place where we can focus on the amazing youth riders. These riders are truly the reason to have a team in the first place, and it is fantastic that so many adults want to work together to create a safe and enjoyable place where any rider can have fun, learn, make friends, and gain skills that will last a lifetime. Thank you!
We are looking forward to the remaining races and practices left in this season. And don't forget our end-of-season team celebration at the end of October for all JD and HS riders! I think the riders feel that enthusiasm for the challenge of the races and reflect it back to us. I'm confident that 2026 will be the start of a new and exciting path forward for the team.

The Cedar Valley Mountain Bike Team is a junior high and high school cross country racing team in the Utah High School Cycling League, a NICA-affiliated league. Our riders live in Eagle Mountain, UT.
Middle and high school riders in Eagle Mountain can race with our NICA team, join GRiT summer rides for girls, or explore other youth cycling programs nearby.
Join the Cedar Valley Mountain Bike Team, our junior high and high school NICA cross country program in Eagle Mountain.
