None of what we do happens without volunteers. You do not have to be an expert rider to help. If you care about giving junior high and high school athletes a great experience on the team, we would love to hear from you.
On-trail helpers
On the trails we need adults who want to ride with the kids. Experienced volunteers mentor newer ones, share trail knowledge, and pair people up so nobody feels behind or left out. NICA provides annual background checks, coach training and certification, plus athlete and coach benefits and partner discounts once you are licensed.
- Group leaders ride with kids and feel ready to lead a practice group or help teach.
- Adult chaperones ride along with a group. You do not need to lead; we just need another set of eyes and wheels on the trail.
Tell us about your background and we will find the right fit.
Cadet coaches (former riders)
We welcome alumni who rode with the team and have graduated to come back as coaches and ride leaders (sometimes called cadet coaches). You already know the trails, the culture, and how the season works, and newer riders benefit from that experience.
If you are under 18, there are a few extra licensing steps (including riding under a parent's coach license in some cases). We will walk you through the current NICA and Utah league requirements when you reach out.
Race day and event logistics
Race weekends need help in two places. NICA and the Utah league need course marshals and other event roles (sign up through each race's NICA volunteer link). The team also needs help with our pit zone, registration, and other race-day support so athletes and families know where to go. The same kind of logistics help matters on non-race days for team events and activities we put on for the kids.
Towing help
We are always looking for people with a vehicle that can tow team trailers to practices, races, and events. If you can help haul gear on race weekends or for traveling practices, let us know.
Trail work and stewardship
Giving back to our community through trail work is part of our nonprofit's mission. Trail work is another way families support the team and the places we ride. See how we partner with LMTA, why NICA encourages stewardship, and how trail days help kids ride better.
Team parents and helpers
Parents help with communications, food, photography, Slack coordination, and other jobs that keep the season running. If you have a skill or a few hours to offer, let us know.
