Questions?

Everything below is meant so a new family can understand the season, costs, and registration steps without waiting for a big meeting. Orientation still helps, and we post exact dates on social channels and this page when they are set.

2026 season timeline

  • Informational meeting: Early or mid March
  • Registration: Open early March through April 15
  • Pre-season rides and activities: April 1 - May 31
  • Main practice season: June 1 through the end of August
  • Race season: Late August through late October

What it costs (2026)

Typical season costs include the league fee, team fee, and race kit:

  • League fee (junior high): $360 - Paid to the Utah High School Cycling League / NICA (Pit Zone).
  • League fee (high school): $400 - Paid to the Utah High School Cycling League / NICA (Pit Zone).
  • Team fee: $230 - Paid to Cedar Valley MTB. Covers team program costs beyond the league fee.
  • Team race kit: $140 - Plus tax and shipping. Ordered through the team each season.

Total for junior high riders: $730
Total for high school riders: $770

Team fee options

Both the league and our team offer scholarships and other assistance based on financial need and availability of funding, consistent with IRS rules. Do not let cost keep your rider off the team - budgeted scholarships and assistance may be available to you.

NICA also runs the Trek NICA Pathfinders Scholarship (bike, gear, and a stipend for eligible student-athletes of color). Application windows differ for fall and spring leagues. Utah races in the fall, so check the NICA page for the dates that apply to our season.

If the full team fee at once is hard, ask for a short payment plan when you register. Exact due dates will be confirmed at orientation each season.

If you know a potential general scholarship sponsor for the team, we'd love an introduction.

For immediate families with multiple riders, the third rider's fees will be $115 and each additional rider will be $50 each.

Registration steps

Whether you are new or returning, plan on completing each step every season. When registration is closed, use the information request form so we can reach you for the next window.

  1. Complete team registration. A parent or guardian completes the Cedar Valley MTB registration when the window opens (usually right after the March orientation). Have your rider with you so details are accurate.
  2. Pay the team fee. Pay the team fee by the date announced at orientation. If paying the full amount at once is hard, ask for a short payment plan through the information request form when you register. Watch for the team invoice email after you register.
  3. Accept your NICA Pit Zone invite. Pit Zone is how families manage league registration, practice tracking, and coach tools. New riders receive an invite a few days after team registration. Returning riders sign in with last season’s account.
  4. Register with the Utah league / NICA and pay the league fee. Every rider also registers with the Utah High School Cycling League through Pit Zone and pays the league fee (insurance, venues, membership). High school and junior high amounts differ - see the cost table above.
  5. Stay on the list for meetings and pre-season. Orientation is usually early or mid March. Pre-season rides and activities typically run April through May. Follow social channels, or send a message so we can reach you when dates post.
